I have been hearing a lot from Conservatives & Republicans on the Right that President Obama does nothing but frivolously spend, spend, & spend some more. That the deficit is suffering terribly because of all the spending.. Just like clockwork the Republicans might be wrong once again. I would like to share with you some interesting numbers that came out around last month. First let me give you some numbers where the deficit stood from our last two presidents. Also let me give you the details on the last Democrat & the last Republican who left office with a balanced Deficit.

Start by looking at Democrat President Bill Clinton, who left us in his final term with a $86.4 billion dollar surplus. President Clinton's successor Republican President George W. Bush left us in his final term with a 1.3 trillion dollar Deficit. Now, we come to President Obama's numbers. During 2013, President Obama reduced the Deficit to just 680 billion dollars which is almost half, & the 2014 projections are set to fall to 514 billion.. which is a cut by more than 50% from the 1.3 trillion dollar Deficit President Bush left us with in his last term. In fact the last Republican President to leave office with a balanced budget goes as far back as President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

So when you hear the Political Right yell & cry about spending involving the Deficit, understand they are either ignorant or just flat out lying. I have my quandaries with President Obama: including his record deportations, record marijuana dispensary raids, record drone strikes, being an overall Corporatist Neo-Liberal sell out to the Establishment, etc... etc...  Although when it comes to this issue, President Obama & historically Democrats in general are just significantly better, & the numbers simply do not lie.
