BIRTHERS & RACISM

In 2008 a man named Barack Obama ran for President. During that time & even till this day, a large group of the Political Right made vehemently ridiculous accusations that Barack Obama was not born in the United States. They of course had no bases for this claim due to the fact that all evidence proves that our current two term President was born in The United States Of America, specifically Hawaii. Although even the crazy Republican Birthers will admit that Barack Obama's mom was born in the United States (Obama's Mom Will Become Relevant As A Comparison Within The Argument I Am Addressing).

Recently a Senator named Ted Cruz announced he is running for President in 2016. (This Is Where The Rabbit Hole Deepens For Senator Ted Cruz & The Crazy Majority That Resides Within The Republican Party) Senator Ted Cruz's birth certificate states that the Texas Republican was born Dec. 22, 1970 in Calgary, Alberta. Snapple Fact Of The Day... Calgary, Alberta is in Canada & not in any way a part of the U.S.A. They attempt to explain this away using the fact that his mom is a U.S. citizen. Senator Ted Cruz's Spokeswoman, Catherine Frazier, attempts to explain further "Senator Cruz became a U.S. citizen at birth, & he never had to go through a naturalization process after birth to become a U.S. citizen." So if you're going to make the argument that as long as your mother is a U.S. citizen, & no matter where you are born you are now undoubtedly a U.S. citizen & can run for president? Then may I ask why the Republicans question President Barack Obama’s citizenship when even they will admit his mother was born in the United States?

In some cases there are ways to become a natural born United States citizen even if you were not born directly within the United States. The U.S. Department of State explains, "A child born abroad to a U.S. citizen parent or parents may acquire U.S. citizenship at birth if certain statutory requirements are met." What are these requirements? Well The U.S. Department of state further explains, "The child's parents should contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate to apply for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States Of America (CRBA) to document that the child is a U.S. citizen." Let's look a bit further. The U.S. Department of State states, "If the U.S. embassy or consulate determines that the child acquired U.S. citizenship at birth, a consular officer will approve the CRBA application & the Department Of State will issue a CRBA, also called a form FS-240, in the child's name."

So my questions are, does Senator Ted Cruz even meet these statutory requirements? Or is Ted Cruz an undocumented foreigner? Does Ted Cruz not have a FS-240? Was Ted Cruz not truly born an American Citizen? What happens if Ted Cruz doesn't have the FS-240 or a DS-1350, & did not apply properly? Well the U.S. Department of State also states, "Failure to promptly document a child who meets the statutory requirements for acquiring U.S. citizenship at birth may cause problems for the parents & the child's U.S. citizenship as well as eligibility for the rights & benefits of U.S. citizenship" Like the rights and benefits of running for President of The United States Of America for example... Interesting!
